Radda approves NECO fee of N977 million for 48,385 students in Katsina


Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has approved a total waiver of N977,023,000 for payment of 2023 National Examinations Council (NECO) fees for 48,385 candidates in the state.

According to a statement signed by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaura Mohammed, on Wednesday, the beneficiaries are those who sat for the 2023 examination conducted by NECO.

“One of the key challenges of Governor Dikko Radda’s administration is the repositioning of the education sector, especially in Katsina State,” Mohammed said.

“And His Excellency, since assuming office, has shown absolute commitment towards improving the primary, secondary and tertiary education system in Katsina.

“His Excellency’s approval today that a whopping sum of over N977 million will be used to settle the NECO fees of over 48,000 Katsina students speaks of His Excellency’s passion for the youth of Katsina and their educational development. .”

In another development, Umar Radda said he visited World Medical Relief’s headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, USA, as a continuation of strategic engagement with international organizations.

The Katsina State Governor further said that he had met with the Chairman of the organization, Mr. George V. Samson and his team.

“During my visit, I received support from organizations to provide medical supplies and equipment towards improving the health system,” he wrote to X.
