Power outage on river due to fallen power pole


Some areas of Rivers State are currently experiencing power outages.

Port Harcourt power distribution company PHED confirmed the power outage in a public notice on Tuesday.

DAILY POST gathered that the outage lasted for more than 17 hours.

PHED said the power outage was caused by downed power poles around Uyo Street and Spring Hill in Port Harcourt, disrupting power supply from Rumuora Feeder 3 and Refinery Feeder 2.

Areas affected by the power outage include Rumuomasi, Rumola, Oraji, Rumuomio, Rumuigbo, Rumuolosi, GRA, Water Line, Oloorokwo, Olomoloejimbu, Rumuokufuta and Bori Camp in Rivers State.

“We would like to inform you that the supply to Rumuola Feeder 3 and Refinery Feeder 2 has been cut off due to downed power poles around Spring Hill and Uyo Street.

“Affected areas include Rumuomasi, Rumola, Oraji, Rumuomio, Rumuigbo and Rumuolosi. Others include GRA, Waterline, Oroorokwo, Oromoloejimbu, Rumuokwuta and Boli Camp.

“Our technical teams have been mobilized to replace downed power poles and repair feeders. We assure customers in these areas that supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed.” the company said.
