Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has strongly condemned the recent clash between the Police and Military Officers along Target Junction, Yola North Local Government Area, which resulted in the exchange of gunfire and brutal attack on the premises of the Police and the death of Inspector Jacob Daniel. A statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, on November 22, said the CP ordered an immediate investigation into the matter with a view to ensuring peace and justice.
”The CP warned that attacks on all security personnel in the line of duty would no longer be tolerated under any pretext, as the Command considers the lives of all security personnel sacrosanct, and such unjustified conflict would be dealt with strictly in accordance with existing laws. . He also reiterated the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property, while stressing that it is vital to work with other fraternal security agents in protecting the fundamental rights of security agents, in order to enable them to advance in their sacred mandate of serve and protect citizens better.” he said
Nguroje added that the police chief has appealed for calm as the top management of both security agencies is doing everything legally possible to resolve the situation.
