Police arrest five suspected drug dealers in Jikawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested five suspected vandals, drug dealers and thieves.

The command's spokesperson, DSP Rowan Cies Adam, confirmed that police recovered a Dane gun, a knife, gunpowder, amulets, destroyed cable wires, illegal drugs and food items from the suspects.

He further stated that on January 1, 2024, at around 14:00, a patrol team attached to Loni Police Station, while on patrol, found Abbas Musa, 25, and Ibrahim Hassan, 22, of Loni Local Government Area, who were in possession of a public telephone. He explained that he was arrested. A wire that is highly suspected of being stolen.

He added: “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to destroying the cable line at the residence of Loni local government chairman.''

At around 6am on January 2, 2024, Mr. Abubakar Abdulussalam of Dansule village in Loni informed the Roni police station that at around 2am on the same day, unscrupulous elements broke down and robbed a grocery store in Dansule village. He said he had reported it. Some food items and other valuable property.

He said police detectives, who received the report, arrested Mr. Kamaluddin Lawan, 22, of Loni, Dhansur village, LGA, for possessing these items. 51 pairs of shoes, 21 cartons of chewing gum, 35 tablets. Laundry soap, 13 bottles of pomade, 9 bottles of spaghetti, 20 bottles of macaroni, 19 bottles of noodles, 14 bottles of peak milk.

Upon interrogation, the suspect stated that he confessed to breaking into the complainant's store and stealing the aforementioned items identified by the complainant.
