Police arrest 15 suspects and recover 20 stolen vehicles in Kano

The Kano State Police Command announced the arrest of 15 persons and the recovery of 20 stolen vehicles in different parts of the state.
The military spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement in Kano on Tuesday.
He said the arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicles was a result of the command's determination to eradicate all forms of crime in the state.
Mr Kiyawa said: “We are fully committed to combating motor vehicle theft incidents and all forms of criminal activity in our areas of supervision.
“Over the last month, the Police Command has consistently demonstrated its determination to ensure the protection of life and property of all residents in the state.
“This is IG Egbetokun’s directive and vision for all police commands and organizations to implement community-based policing, intelligence-led policing and the demonstration of professional competence for effective service delivery. It’s something to promote.”
Police Commissioner Ussaini Gumel thanked the public for their understanding, cooperation and support and reaffirmed the police's commitment to operating within the law.
He also advised everyone to continue to report any suspicious movements, people or items to their local police station for prompt security action.
