Police accuse bricklayer of stealing four generators

The Ekiti police command has arraigned a 32-year-old bricklayer, Fatoyebi Kola, before the Court of Chief Magistrates in Ado-Ekiti, for allegedly stealing three tiger generators.

It was gathered that the generators valued at N300,000 are owned by one Ajibade Gbenga.

According to the police prosecutor, ASP Celeb Leramo, Kola stole the generator on December 24, 2023 in Orun-Ekiti. The offense committed is punishable under Section 324 (1) and (2) of the Ekiti State Penal Law, 2021.

The defendant, who had no legal representation, told the court he was not guilty of the crime. He was later granted bail of N50,000 by the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Saka Afunso, with one surety.

The case was adjourned until January 8 for hearing.
