Plateau attack: Groups call on government to enforce law banning land grabbing


The Forum of Former Youth Leaders in Plateau State has called for the full implementation of existing anti-land grabbing laws in the state following Christmas Eve attacks in some communities that left scores of people dead. He called on the state and federal governments to cooperate. property and livelihood.

This was disclosed by the forum's chairman, Yakubu Itse, at a press briefing in Jos, the state capital.

“Given the confidence we have in our security agencies, we believe they will launch a full-scale investigation to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” he said.

“We call on the Plateau government to work with the Federal Government to ensure the implementation of the Plateau Anti-Land Grabbing Act.

“New governments at the federal, state, and local levels should call a spade a spade and ensure that perpetrators are identified, apprehended, and appropriately punished.

“The series of attacks in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole requires our security agencies to display a high level of professionalism to produce the necessary results.

“We call on security agencies to investigate previous allegations of calls by the Fulani to make Nigeria their world headquarters. The results of this investigation will be archived like previous investigations. It shouldn’t be left behind.”
