OUA Student Arrives at Hospital After Completing Handwashing Marathon for Guinness World Records

Level 200 student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Osun State, Subair Enitan, arrived at the hospital after completing 58 hours of handwashing.

Enitan began the mission on the afternoon of Friday, November 24, at the Student Union Building motor park, within the university campus, with thousands of students gathered around it. She began the challenge of setting a record for the longest hand wash time by an individual after applying for the Guinness World Record for the task last June.

Several student artists and University staff also paid a sympathetic visit to the task pavilion to applaud her victory. She turned 58 hours old on Monday and was taken by School Ambulance to the institution’s outpatient clinic for a medical examination. Enitan ended the marathon after 58 hours, surpassing its initial plan of 50 hours.

Speaking before heading to the clinic, Enitan said she was pleased to have completed the task right in front of her mother, Omogbolabo Afolake, who was there for over two days.

“I am so pleased to have completed the task right in front of my mother, friends and colleagues who flocked to this venue to show love and support my ambition,” she said.
