Osun recorded no loss of life due to road accidents in October — FRSC

The Osun District Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that no loss of life or accident was recorded in the state in October.

The Divisional Commander, Henry Benamaicia, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Command Spokesperson, A. Usenyi, in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Benamaysia also revealed that of the 432 people arrested for various traffic offenses in October, 189 had received safety-related training.

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of police officers and the cooperation of road users, there were no fatalities in October.

“Although there was a single accident, the driver returned safely and unharmed,” Benamaysia said.

The commander also said the command had undertaken 24 radio programs and four television awareness programs to ensure safety of lives and property.

“Our awareness of safety issues is very high and we were able to reach our target audience through the press.”

He further said that highway safety must be the common responsibility of everyone to prevent any accidents that may lead to loss of life or property.

However, Benamaysia advised motorists to adopt defensive driving techniques to prevent unexpected accidents on the highway.
