Osimhen and Oshoala nominated for 2023 Globe Soccer Awards


Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala have been nominated for the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards.

Organizers of the award, now in its 14th year, announced the nominees at X on Tuesday.

Osimhen will compete against 29 other competitors in the men’s division, while Oshoala will battle it out with 19 other competitors in the women’s division.

In the men’s division, Osimhen is joined by Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Kevin De Bruyne, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane. It has been nominated.

Other categories in this year’s awards include Fan’s Favorite Player, Maradona Award, Best Men’s Club Award, Best Manager, Best Midfielder, Best Goalkeeper and Power Horse Emerging Player.

The Best President, Best Sporting Director, Best Agent, Best Middle East Player and Best Middle East Club will also be selected.

Former Real Madrid and France striker Benzema won the 2022 award, while Ronaldo has won six titles and has won more awards than any other player.

The Globe Soccer Awards are organized by the European Club Association (ECA) in collaboration with the European Player Agents Association (EFAA). The award ceremony will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The first conference was held in 2009, but the first awards were not awarded until 2010, of which three were awarded.

In 2011, the number of awards and categories increased, reaching up to 6 categories, while the 2012 edition offers more awards, reaching 10 football-related categories.
