Onu explains why Abia Warriors lost to Akwa United

Abia Warriors head coach, Erasmus Onu, has blamed the poor treatment of his team by Akwa United for Sunday’s defeat against Eket.

The visiting team suffered a 1-3 loss against Akwa United.

Onu said the team was held hostage late into the night after Saturday's practice session.

The veteran tactician said the move affected the players' performance on match day.

“We came here to train at Ekett Township Stadium on Saturday and were held hostage until 8 o'clock at night,” he said in a post-game interview.

“The boys were not allowed to leave the stadium. Psychologically all these things affected the performance of the players, because most of them fell asleep before we were allowed to leave. Because it started.”

Abia Warriors occupy 8th place in the table with 23 points from 17 games.
