One chance for Abuja: Panel absolves Maitama Hospital of responsibility for Olorunfemi’s death

Maitama District Hospital has been absolved of any responsibility for the death of Emperor Olorunfemi.

A nine-member independent commission of inquiry set up by the government investigated alleged negligence at the hospital that led to Olorunfemi's death.

The commission, established in October, completed its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident on Wednesday and submitted its findings in a comprehensive 94-page report.

Olorunfemi, who was riding in a One Chance crime taxi in Abuja, was stabbed and thrown from the moving vehicle.

She was rushed to Maitama District Hospital in critical condition, but was refused treatment by the facility.

But the commission said Olorunfemi was found on the side of the road by a good Samaritan and carried away alive.
