Nasarawa State Governor’s Court Judgment: PDP Goes to Supreme Court

Ogun Governor: PDP expresses hope, praises Minority Court of Appeal judgment

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed “hope and satisfaction” over the Court of Appeal’s judgment on the March 18 gubernatorial election.

DAILY POST reports that the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos State on Friday upheld the selection of Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Two of the judges dismissed the appeal filed by PDP’s Mr. Ladi Adebutu as without merit, while one found that the petition had merit and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue Abiodun. The government ordered that the certificate of return submitted to him be withdrawn and that another election be held in 1999. Polling stations where elections were disrupted.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST by the Ogun State PDP Spokesperson, Mr. Akiloye Bankole, the party said, “The true cause of justice is to restore the mandate that the good people of Ogun State have freely given to the PDP. I am particularly pleased that this will become the case.” This is currently being held on behalf of the APC and its candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and is achievable after all. ”

The PDP said the appellate court “wasted no time in the election petitions tribunal that trashed our fervent desire to save our beloved nation and spent all its time in the world just dwelling on technicalities. We appreciated the fact that “differently, we considered the essential merits of our petition.” It escaped the clutches of the APC through a democratic election campaign. ”

The opposition party expressed joy that the Court of Appeal’s judgment had restored Mr. Adebutu’s hopes “by resolving in our favor some technical issues contained in the court’s judgment.”

Mr Bankole said: Justice Jane Inyang recognized his outstanding courage and extraordinary boldness in delivering a minority judgment that was articulated in clear detail.

“In clear words and without any ambiguity, Justice Inyang, in a detailed judgment, removes Mr. Abiodun from the noble office of Governor of Ogun State, declares that his certificate of return shall be immediately revoked, and declares that INEC “I have ordered fresh elections to be held in the March 18 gubernatorial election,” said Abiodun. Elections were canceled within 90 days at 99 polling places. ”

The PDP termed Governor Abiodun’s call for Mr. Adebutu to join the government and serve the nation as ridiculous, saying, “What an insult!”

The party reminded Abiodun that the present victory he was enjoying was a disastrous one. He must therefore learn to drink and dance with serious caution. Hmm. His joy doesn’t stand the test of law as the battle continues in our nation’s highest court.

“Neither is His Highness. Any Adebutu or any sensible person would join hands with APC in Ogun State.

“For our part, we would like to thank all our great party members, our many unrepentant supporters, and our , I will continue to be grateful to the good people of Ogun.” We must not despair. Not now, not ever. ”
