The Ondo State Islamic Affairs Council (ODSCIA) has congratulated Governor Lucky Olimisan Aiyedatiwa on his new post.

The group, in a separate statement issued by the state chairman, Alhaji Akinperumi Abibullahi, and the state general secretary, Alhaji Atele Nasirullahi, said, however, that the state government’s response following the death of former governor, Mr. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, We are doing so.

In a congratulatory message, the Islamic Affairs Leadership congratulated Mr. Ayedatiwa on his elevation from deputy governor to acting governor and governor, calling it a sacred agenda.

The council called for the post of lieutenant governor to be given to a Muslim on grounds of fairness and equity.

While affirming the importance of appointing a lieutenant governor in line with the governance provisions of the constitution, the council appealed for the election of a Muslim to the post of lieutenant governor on grounds of fairness and equity.

“We at the Ondo State Islamic Affairs Council continue to pray for you and your ministers to succeed in the difficult task ahead. May God Almighty guide you in the right direction.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to commiserate with you and the Ondo State government on the transition of power of former Governor Arakurin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.”

“May God grant you and the entire government the fortitude to endure irreparable loss.”

The paper said the former governor's eternal death comes as a rude shock and is a word from God: “We have come and to Him we will definitely return.”

The report said Mr. Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu’s tenure will be remembered for the security of lives and property of the people, tangible and impactful projects, and the robust education system in the state. Stated.
