The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dispatched 1,689 members to Bauchi State for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation Exercise.
The coordinator of the scheme in the state, Lifukatu Yakubu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Thursday.
She said the orientation for the corps members would begin on November 24 and end on December 14 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp at Wairo in Ganjwa Local Government Area of the state.
She explained that each prospective member would be allowed to enter the camp only after being certified.
The NYSC coordinator said this is part of security measures to ensure that there is no intrusion or impersonation of members.
“Candidates for corps members are assigned a registration date and are encouraged to strictly follow all camp rules and regulations.
“Defaulters will be subject to sanctions in accordance with NYSC terms and conditions,” Yakubu said.
She also reiterated that the plan frowned upon late-night travel, thereby urging future corps members to avoid it.
She advised them to be punctual, diligent and follow the dress code acceptable at the camp, adding that disregard for the NYSC dress code will not be tolerated.
