NSCDC to partner with Hisbah to implement Sharia law in Zamfara


The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has announced that it will work with the Hisbah Board to enforce Sharia law in the state.

Corps Commander Sani Mustafa said this during a courtesy visit to Gusau by a delegation from the Hisbah Committee.

Mustafa asserted that the corps is ready to work closely with Hisbah to reduce the rate of criminal activities in the province.

He said Zamfara state is known for its practice of Sharia law and that the Hisbah Board, an executive arm of the state government that ensures the maintenance of Sharia law tenets, supports its operations.

The NSCDC commander pointed out that strict compliance with the Sharia injunction could go a long way in eliminating social vices and security insecurity in the country.

Earlier, the leaders of the Hisbah Committee, led by the newly appointed Chairman Sheikh Umar Hassan Gusau, praised the NSCDC for its tenacity in the fight against crime and insecurity in the country.

Mr. Gusau sought the support of the NSCDC to strengthen the smooth operation of the Hisbah Committee, especially in the area of ​​enforcement and arrest.
