NSCDC parades three suspects with 1,625 liters of adulterated diesel
The Anambra Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested three suspects in possession of 1,625 liters of adulterated diesel also known as motor diesel oil in Anambra.
The NCDC Anambra Commandant, Olatunde Maku, was parading the suspects before newsmen in Awka on Friday when they were arrested on March 23 along Atani Road in Odekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state. said that it was done.
He said his team arrested Mr. Oluchukwu Okeke, 28, from Ogbaru, Anambra State. Emeka Chukwuma (34) is also from Ogbaru, Anambra State. and Ifunanya Ike (29) from Mbano in Imo State.
Mak said they were transporting 65 25-litre barrels of suspected adulterated diesel, estimated at 1,625 liters, in four different vehicles.
He said the vehicles were two shuttle buses, one white with registration number AWK429XY and the other gray with registration number GDD277XB.
“This arrest was made in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy and preliminary investigation revealed that the illegally refined products were loaded at Ogbakuma and both were headed to Okoti community in Ogbaru area.”
“I would like to commend the Nigerian Navy for its support in the fight against crime in the country.
“We need this type of synergy to wage all-out war against the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
“NSCDC is known for its zero-tolerance for crude oil theft and illegal refueling activities as the leading agency in protecting national, state, and local government critical assets and infrastructure.
“We remain focused on freeing Anambra State from illegal petroleum product extortion and other related crimes,” he said.
Mak added that the suspects will be arraigned in court once the investigation is complete.
He appealed to the public to assist the command in its renewed vigor in combating illegal oil refining activities in the state by providing information on illegal oil bunkering activities within its jurisdiction. Ta.
