NPFL fines Enugu football club Rangers N1m for violent conduct

Enugu-based Rangers football club has been accused of violating the rules and structures of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

During the match against Abia Warriors on Sunday, November 25, it is alleged that some Rangers officials brought the game into disrepute following their violent reaction to provocation by the home team (Abia Warriors), which is an act of misconduct under the NPFL rules.

In addition to the N1 million fine, Rangers were also ordered to identify and present the officials involved in the act of misconduct for further sanctions.

The Enugu club has been warned that repetition of the same act of misconduct will result in severe sanctions.

The NPFL said Rangers have 48 hours from the date of notification to appeal or accept the sanctions.
