“Nonsense lie, Igbo people did not develop Lagos” – Fani-Kayode slams Ohanaeze President Iwan Yanwu

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has rejected claims by President Ohanaeze Chief Emmanuel Iwanyanwu that the Ibos developed Lagos State from a swamp to a megacity.

Mr Fani-Kayode mentioned Mr Iwanyanwu’s feedback have been a transparent lie and dishonest nonsense.

Iwanyanwu mentioned Igbo people have been “pioneers” and “heroes” of recent Lagos State.

He mentioned the ancestors of the Igbo people made elements of the state liveable from swampy areas.

Reacting, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chief maintained that Lagos State was by no means a slum till the arrival of the Igbos.

Fani-Kayode posted on X and wrote: “This is nothing greater than a self-serving lie.

“It can greatest be described as disingenuous nonsense.

“Fact: Yoruba people are not “political thugs.”

“Lagos is not a ‘no man’s land’.

“Binis did not uncover Lagos.

“Lagos was a slum before the Igbos arrived. Don’t be fooled by historical revisionists!”
