NiMet predicts 3 days of clear skies and dust clouds across Nigeria


The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunshine and dust outbreaks across the country from Saturday to Monday.

A weather forecast released by NiMet on Thursday in Abuja predicted moderate dust clouds on Friday, with horizontal visibility ranging from 2km to 5km in Northern and North Central provinces.

“Horizontal visibility range is expected to be locally below 1,000 meters during the forecast period in Yobe, Borno, Jigawa and Kano states.

“Scattered sunny clouds are expected in the southern inland states and cloudy weather is expected in the morning in coastal areas.

The report said: “Inland states are expected to see spells of sunshine with scattered clouds, but later in the day there will be some localized skies in parts of Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom Delta, Cross River and Rivers states. There is a possibility of thunderstorms.”

Significant dust fog was expected to develop across the northern states throughout the forecast period on Saturday.

The agency predicted moderate dust clouds with horizontal visibility of 2 kilometers to 5 kilometers across the north-central region of the country throughout the forecast period.

NiMet predicted clear skies and patches of clouds in the landlocked southern states, while coastal regions would see cloudy skies early in the forecast period.

The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted bright and hazy conditions across the interior states, with localized thunderstorms possible in parts of Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states later in the day. I expected it to be sexual.
