The federal government has approved an extension of the deadline for pilgrims to register for Hajj in 2024.

NAHCON Nigeria National Hajj Committee Public Affairs Deputy Director, Fatima Usala, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said the extension was in response to sincere concerns raised by religious clerics, state pilgrim welfare boards, agencies, commissions, governors and other stakeholders regarding the closure of Hajj registration in 2024. He said that.

“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is pleased to announce the approval of the Federal Government for the extension of the deadline.

“The new date has been set for January 31st, providing additional opportunities for individuals to participate in this sacred pilgrimage.

“The overwhelming requests for extensions from various religious communities highlight the importance of ensuring access to a wider range of believers eager to embark on the spiritual journey of Hajj,” she said. added.
