Nigerian couple arrested for running drug ring in India

The NCB Narcotics Enforcement Bureau in Goa, India, announced that it had raided a drug ring allegedly run by a Nigerian man named Stanley and his wife, Usha C. Justin.

NCB Goa Additional Director Amit Gawate disclosed these developments in a statement on Thursday.

Gawate said Stanley was arrested on Wednesday after a thorough investigation.

He said based on credible information, the NCB Goa team seized 7.35 grams of cocaine from Mr. Raju S., a resident of Saligao, on February 13, 2024.

“During the initial investigation into the case, it was established that the accused was merely a peddler working in a large drug network run by Stanley and his wife Usha C, a Nigerian national resident in Candolim,” Gawate said. said.

“Furthermore, it was discovered that the man at the center, Stanley, had connections with local people who were supplying large quantities of drugs for delivery to various customers.

“On February 16, 2024, NCB Goa arrested another open-air peddler, identified as Michael, a taxi driver from Candolim.

“Following the leads, the NCB raided the house of the prime suspect, Stanley, but he had already been arrested by the Telangana police in the NDPS case there.

“Subsequent investigation revealed that Usha C, along with her husband, was actively involved in drug trafficking and controlled the proceeds generated by this drug network.

“Therefore, Usha C was arrested on February 21, 2024 and proceedings were initiated to identify the properties they illegally acquired to undermine the entire drug network,” he added.

He revealed that assets worth Rs 1.06 billion related to the couple were also frozen as part of the operation.
