Nigeria will play Benin, Libya and Rwanda

Nigeria will have to settle things with the Squirrels of Benin Republic after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) placed the Super Eagles in Group D with their neighbours for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

The draw, which took place in Johannesburg on Thursday afternoon, will see Nigeria face Rwanda and Libya respectively.

Nigeria was placed in Pot 1 alongside the top-ranked teams in Africa, allowing them to avoid 11 other footballing powerhouses, including Ghana and hosts Morocco.

The qualifying round will be made up of 12 groups of four teams each (Groups A to L), and the first and second place teams from 11 groups, excluding tournament host Morocco, will qualify for the tournament.

More to come…
