NFF names Hervé Renard as new head coach of Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed interest in appointing Herve Renard as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.

L'Equipe reported that Renard is still the coach of the French women's team, but that her term in that role is coming to an end.

He is expected to leave at the end of the Olympics.

Renard also confirmed that he had informed the French Football Federation (FFF) of his intentions.

“It's a difficult task. In short, the 2026 Men's Football World Cup is at the back of my mind.

“I hope this will be my third World Cup as coach of the men's team. These are my personal motivations,” he said.

Renard has no shortage of suitors. If Walid Legulagi steps down, the former Zambia and Ivory Coast coach is reportedly targeting not only Nigeria but also Poland, South Korea, Cameroon and Morocco.
