NDLEA seizes 478kg of illegal substances in Kaduna, arrests 99 suspects
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Okomando, Kaduna State, announced in November that it had seized 478 kilograms of various illegal drugs.
This is contained in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Tuesday and signed by the Command’s Spokesperson, Shuaib Yusuf Omale.
Yusuf Omale listed cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine and other psychoactive substances as the substances seized.
He said that during the investigation period, the command also arrested 90 suspects, adding that this figure represents both drug traffickers, dealers and users.
Commander Yusuf Omale said: “In efforts to combat the drug scourge in Kaduna State through drug demand reduction activities, the command has carried out a number of sensitization programs across the state.
“This was to educate the public about the evils associated with drug use and illegal trafficking.”
