NBS lists three states with the highest cooking gas prices


According to the NBS National Bureau of Statistics, Cross River, Jigawa and Zamfara states have the highest price for 12.5 kg of liquefied petroleum gas, also known as cooking gas, in Nigeria.

NBS revealed this in its January Liquefied Petroleum Gas Report.

According to the report, the highest average retail price for refilling a 12.5 kg cylinder of cooking gas was from Cross River at N13,040.00, followed by Jigawa at N12,875.00 and Zamfara at N12,725.00.

Conversely, Kaduna had the lowest average price at N9,699.50, followed by Kwara and Niger at N10,000.00 and N10,400.00 respectively.

A zone-wise analysis shows that the highest average retail price for LPG 12.5kg cylinder refill was in the South-South at N12,602.47, followed by the North-West at N12,224.93, while the South-West recorded the lowest price at N11. , 189.02.

The report added that the average retail price of 5kg LPG increased by 3.55% monthly from N4,962.87 in December to N5,139.25 in January.
