NASS seeks partnership with NSE for manufacturing growth
Senate President Godswill Akpabio mentioned the National Assembly would work with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) to develop helpful laws to speed up manufacturing.
Akpabio spoke on Tuesday on the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Engineering Conference in Abuja.
The theme of the convention was “Restructuring the manufacturing sector to strengthen competitiveness and economic growth.”
He mentioned infrastructure growth was elementary to manufacturing success, however acceptable and pleasant legal guidelines and rules have been wanted to foster growth.
Mr. Ike Ugwegede was the consultant on the ceremony.
“The tenth Congress needs the NSE to work with related House and Senate committees to speed up the re-engineering of our nation’s manufacturing sector, amongst different issues.
“We must streamline democratic processes, cut back paperwork and incentivize native manufacturing and entrepreneurship.
“Furthermore, there is a need to implement favorable policies to promote sustainable practices, encourage the development of local content and protect intellectual property rights,” Akpabio mentioned.
