JERUSALEM, Israel – As fighting continues on the ground in Gaza, the information war over whether or not Shifa Hospital was used as a terror center has become a major focus of the battle Hamas is waging against Israel.
Still, the Israel Defense Forces say they have evidence that the IDF soldier, 19-year-old Corporal Noa Marciano, who was found dead in Gaza, was taken alive during the massacre and held hostage next to Shifa Hospital. Hamas claims Marciano was killed by an IDF bombing raid in Gaza, but IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hargari says that is not true.
“According to the information we have, concrete information: Hamas terrorists took Noa to Shifa Hospital, where she was quickly murdered,” Hagari said.

The IDF also showed videos of two other hostages.
“I will now present concrete evidence of hostages – one from Nepal, one from Thailand,” Hargari explained, “who were kidnapped from Israel during the Hamas massacre on October 7th.” After ruthless massacres and hostage-taking, the terrorists fled to the Shifa -Hospital.
Footage shows a gunman taking another hostage to the hospital on a stretcher at 10:55 a.m. on October 7th. Hargari says the IDF does not know where this person is now and that the person still needs to be rescued.
Amid the disputes over Shifa, the Associated Press also reported that 31 Palestinian premature babies were evacuated to Egypt. Meanwhile, both the United States and Qatar said the two sides were nearing an agreement over the hostage crisis. According to press reports, at least 50 Israeli hostages were to be released in groups during a five-day lull in fighting.
“We believe we are closer to a final agreement than ever before, but on an issue as sensitive and challenging as this, the mantra really is that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed,” Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer told CBS faces the nation.
Thousands of Israelis walked up the highway into Jerusalem on Saturday to support the families of the hostages.
In a televised address to the nation over the weekend, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he and all of Israel would go with them.
“There are many unfounded rumors, many false reports regarding the hostages. I want to be clear: there is no deal yet. But I want to promise: If there is something to say, we will tell you about it,” Netanyahu promised.
The Prime Minister and members of the War Cabinet will meet with representatives of the hostages’ families this evening.
