Napoleon Aluma, one of the longest-serving coaches in Nigerian football, may be appointed as the manager of Delta State University club side Warri Wolves.

Although his appointment as Warri Wolves FC's new manager has not been officially announced, yesterday the Guardian learned that Alma was chosen ahead of other coaching positions due to his years of work experience. Ta.
He was a former assistant coach at Enyimba FC and Sunshine Stars in Akure. Alma recently brought his coaching achievements to Ghana, where he led one of the country's clubs to success in the domestic league.
In 2017, Aluma was appointed as Warri Wolves coach to replace former head coach Clifford Chukwuma, who had parted ways with the team, but the atmosphere at the time was poor due to allegations of interference from some government officials. It was “not a good thing” for him.
Delta Sports Commission officials yesterday hinted that Alma, which was part of the success story of the defunct Ufuoma Babes FC in Warri, will soon be officially unveiled to the public.
While Alma is the ticker of Warri Wolves, coach Peter Dedebo, the former coach of the U20 women's national team, Falconets, is engaged to Asaba's Delta Queens FC. Like Aluma, Dedevbo previously coached Delta Queens, leading the club to the Super 6 title in 2003 in Umuahia, Abia State and the FA Cup in Abuja in 2004.
According to Delta FA officials, Governor Obolewori is determined to change the face of both clubs.
“Both Warri Wolves and Delta Queens FC are household names not only in Nigeria but across Africa and beyond. We cannot accept that we are struggling. We must all work together to save and turn around the fortunes of both clubs.”
