The 9th annual Pan African Music Fashion Runway (MFR), scheduled for December 2nd, will celebrate industry legends as part of this year’s activities.

This year’s event, themed “Empowering the creative and corporate mix to coordinate infrastructure development and growth in the creative and entertainment sector,” will raise significant contributions to the creative industry through Game Changer Africa Acknowledgment (GCAA). The purpose is to honor the pioneers who have made contributions.

Managing Director MFR, Ngozi Omanbara, said the event also celebrates and showcases Pan-African cultural heritage in art, film, media, fashion and design.

According to her, the creative and entertainment sector has undergone dramatic changes and has become a force of nature. She said: “Despite continued unprecedented growth, infrastructure is lagging, exposing the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of young creators trying to carve out care without support or protection.”

She added that the event will include international runway models as well as live music performances.
“The show will also select two upcoming models who will be given the opportunity to start their modeling careers by walking the MFR 2023 catwalk,” she added.

Gabriel Idahosa, Vice President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commented that the entertainment industry is one of the biggest and best opportunities for youth job creation.

He said LCCI provides a platform that gives young talent the technical, managerial and financial empowerment they need to grow.
