“Mr. Akeredolu deserves a state funeral” – Governor Ayedatiwa

Ondo State Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa on Wednesday said a committee has been set up to ensure a proper burial for the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Mr. Ayedatiwa said this while receiving the Orbaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adelaide, who came to pay his condolences on the death of Mr. Akeredolu of Akure.

According to the governor, Akeredolu, who died in the line of duty, deserves a state burial.

“To me, he was a friend, a brother, a principal, a leader, and the governor I served for three years. His impact on our state as governor is unforgettable and his impact on the people of our state. We can't forget the other efforts he took to make life better. He came and did what he could, but God brought him home. You will be sad when he is gone, but you will be comforted by knowing that he lived a purposeful life.

“He died in the line of duty, so he deserved a state funeral and we are going to give him exactly that. We have also set up a committee. We look forward to welcoming the family. We hope they will Whenever you give us a date, we are ready,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said.
