The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, has promised to improve the welfare of paramilitary agency personnel, including seamless promotions and new pay packages.
Mr. Tunji Ojo, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Alao Babatunde, in Abuja on Thursday, said the government has established a committee to prevent career stagnation in the paramilitary service and ensure that the promotion process is not circumvented. He said that he had set up a meeting.
“We are working on promotion training for personnel in all paramilitary agencies, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We’re doing this to end the era of career stagnation. People should go into the service with the hope that one day they too can become CGs.
“People should be able to get promotions on time and without anyone knowing.”
The Minister said while introducing the new uniform for members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), it will provide the paramilitary forces with the necessary equipment to carry out their duties.
