Manager reveals reason for late arrival to Gombe United match
The reason why Gombe United arrived late to their away matchday match has been revealed.
The Savannah Scorpions were reported to have consistent problems with their team bus.
DAILY POST recalled that Gombe United arrived a few hours before the kick-off of Matchday 10 against Kwara United in Ilorin.
Head coach Mohamed Babaganar said the situation was “not good” for the team's performance.
“When it comes to financial matters, I am still asking the government for help. Most of the time we arrive late to the game and sometimes we travel a day before the game or even the day of the game.
“I think what's good for us is to travel, get there, rest and do the usual shake-up in the evening before the game,” he told the media at Pantami Stadium.
“But we haven't done anything like that lately. We are going into the game very late. I will continue to ask the government for support. We need their financial help. .
“Currently, the bus is in Akure (Ondo State). It broke down on the way back from Akure.
“We had to hire a bus to go to Gombe. We thank God for everything, but we still need government assistance,” he said.
Gombe United will next take on Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
