Man City vs. Liverpool: ‘We caused them problems’ – Klopp’s verdict on EPL match

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League.

Klopp claimed that Liverpool caused Man City problems during the encounter.

The German watched on as goals from Erling Haaland and Trent Alexander-Arnold forced Man City and Liverpool to a draw at the Etihad.

“It was a really good moment,” Klopp said in the post-match interview.

“It’s a tough place to come to. It’s no coincidence that they win so many home games.

“We’re still in the process. If we had played really well today, we might have won, but we didn’t. We played OK.

“We gave them trouble too, but even the good moments (in the first half) weren’t very good for us.

“We had to work hard again (in the second half). We adjusted our positioning a little bit. “Unfortunately we lost Diogo (Jota), but with Alli we’ll have to wait and see.

“I asked the players at halftime to imagine what would have happened if we had played well.

“We needed to settle things a little bit. Having Trent in a different position defensively and also Dom (Szoboszlai) and Mo (Salah) filling the gap in the second half gave us more stability. From there, we were able to play soccer on our own.”
