LASTMA seizes 15 tankers anchored along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway

Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have indiscriminately seized 15 tankers parked along the Second Rainbow up to the Mile 2 bridge of the Oshodi-Apapa expressway in Lagos.

In a press statement issued by LASTMA Spokesperson, Mr. Adebayo Taofik, said the enforcement operation was carried out on the direction of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transport, Hon. Soragiwa.

Additionally, it was confirmed that an arrest was made within the Mile 2 Estate after an investigation revealed that some of the seized tankers were parked indiscriminately.

This parking lot caused severe traffic congestion for cars exiting the housing complex.

According to Peter Gbejemede (LASTMA Operations Director), the crackdown will be carried out in accordance with the law and will continue until illegal/indiscriminate parking is completely tolerated across the state.

The Special Adviser on Transport therefore called on motorists to cooperate with the government by notifying LASTMA of broken down or abandoned trailers/trucks.
