Lagos to begin construction of marina at Mile 2 interchange in 2024

The Lagos State Government has announced that construction of the Marina Interchange and Mile 2 Interchange will begin in 2024.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) said in a statement that its Managing Director, Engineer. Mrs. Abimbola Akinaho made the announcement on Tuesday.

Mr Akinaho said this when key stakeholders in the transport sub-sector from both the public and private sectors gathered at the Four Points by Sheraton for the Lagos Transport Fest to discuss the future of mobility in Nigeria.

Dr. LAMATA in a presentation titled “Lagos Blue Line, its journey so far, what’s next?” Illuminations will be lit on the road leading to the Blue Line.

“She also unveiled plans to begin construction of a transportation interchange at Marina and Mile 2 in 2024, with the aim of seamlessly integrating all modes of transportation,” Ramata said.

Additionally, the agency has revealed that it plans to prioritize non-motorized transportation options in future infrastructure projects.

The event was attended by stakeholders from a wide range of transportation industries, including shipping and logistics, and other stakeholders including Mr. Idowu Oguntona, CEO of Lagos Bus Services Limited, and Ms. Mariam Hamid, CEO of T40. We gathered.

Other participants in attendance included Interswitch Group’s Mass Transit Business Development Manager, Oando plc’s Vice President of Projects and Infrastructure, Nenna Ajanwachukwu, and Uber Nigeria’s Country Manager, Tope Akinwunmi.
