Lagos seals off five construction sites over environmental violations



The Lagos State Government has sealed off five construction sites in different parts of the state for non-compliance with environmental laws.

Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources Secretary Tokunbo Wahab confirmed the closure of the construction site in a statement on Thursday.

“Environmental nuisance against officials of the Vigilance Enforcement and Compliance Department of #LasgMOE for not removing construction materials and drainage setbacks/regulations dumped on the road despite being served with several notices.” We have ordered the closure of five construction sites as they fall under this category,” Wahab wrote. .

He added that the sealed location is located at 9 and 9a Abisogun Lee Street, Ogba. Taiwo Osipitan Street, Adekoya Estate, Ifako.

The other location is on Ijegun Street, Ikotun. Otunba Jide Oni Close, Ile Akali, Isolo and Dele Asiru Street, Ile Akali, Isolo.

In a statement, Wahab warned Lagosians that no environmental violations will be tolerated in the state.
