Lagos government concerned about gender equality — SSG
The Lagos State Government has said it is ready to provide an environment where women can compete favorably with men.
Government Secretary Bimbo Sall-Hundein said this in an interview with reporters in Lagos.
She made that promise Friday night on the sidelines of the Eloy Awards and conference.
Salu Hundein said a closer look at the selection made by the Sanwo-Olu-led government revealed that the state government was concerned about gender balance.
She said the government had implemented a number of measures, including skilling and empowerment, to ensure that the voices of women in the state were heard and amplified.
SSG said what was witnessed at the awards ceremony shows that Nigerian women are resilient and motivated to realize their potential.
“This is great. The convenor of the award himself has a good track record, so I think he deserves the award.
“The state government has already invited SSG to attend this event and recognize the good deeds done through awards.”
