La Liga: Sadiq thanks Real Sociedad for support as they overcome goal deficit

Nigeria forward Umar Sadiq has thanked everyone at Real Sociedad after scoring against Sevilla on Sunday night.

Sadiq scored a stunning goal at the Real Arena, helping Real Sociedad to a 2-1 victory.

This was the Nigeria international’s first goal for the club since September 2022.

“I would like to thank everyone at Real, the physiotherapists, the doctors, the coaches, my teammates and everyone who worked with me every day,” the 26-year-old told Marca.

“This goal is for them. It’s a very important goal to me and I needed it after a year.”

Sadiq suffered a cruciate ligament injury early last season but returned this summer.
