Kwara government solicits memorandum for establishment of University of Education.
The Kwara State Government has called on stakeholders in the education sector to submit a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Kwara State College of Education.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq inaugurated a committee headed by Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem on November 17, 2023 to midwife the process leading up to the establishment of the facility.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Monday, the commission said: “As part of the process, government invites the public, stakeholders, educational institutions and interested parties to provide insights and recommendations through the submission of memorandums. “
“This visionary initiative aims to improve the quality of education and contribute to the development of human resources in the state.”
The Memorandum of Understanding relates to the establishment of a college of education, including, but not limited to, its desirable strategic location within the state to ensure inclusiveness, proposed academic programs and faculties, infrastructure requirements, and opportunities for collaboration with existing universities. He said that related issues should be addressed. Institutions and strategies for community participation and development.
The committee recommended that all memorandums should be submitted in writing and sent to the Council Chamber of the Kwara State University Business School or the Ministry of Higher Education at the Ilorin State Secretariat.
