Kwara approves 100% consolidated medical salary structure for nurses

The Kwara State Government has approved and implemented the 100% Consolidated Health Salary Scheme (CONHESS) for nurses in the state.

The state government has also recruited around 63 nurses to fill the void created by brain drain in the country to improve the quality and standard of nursing care in line with global best practices.

The Chairman and Secretary of the Kwara State Council of the National Association of Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria, Mr. Aminu Shehu and Mr. Markus Luka, respectively, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin made available to journalists.

The association expressed its gratitude to the Director-General of the State Hospital Management Authority for playing an important role in the struggle to ensure the fulfillment of the demands made by the government.

The group also praised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for approving and implementing 100% CONHESS and increasing recruitment of nurses to boost healthcare delivery in the state.
