Kogi Elections: The Judiciary is now a department of the APC. I won’t go to court

Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, has admitted defeat in the November 11 elections, saying he is not going to contest the consequence at the election petition tribunal due to an alleged lack of independence of the judiciary .

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC candidate Usman Ododo as the winner of the gubernatorial election, a consequence Melaye and the PDP vehemently contested.

Melaye’s choice not to go to court stems from his perception that the “judiciary has become a tool of the All Progressives Congress (APC)”, making it unimaginable to search redress.

“The Judiciary is no longer the last hope of ordinary people; it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress. Why should any responsible person go to court when APC has captured the judiciary?”

“I have lost complete confidence in the judiciary,” he mentioned.
