The kidnappers of Sarkin Fili in Mpape community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT beat the chief to a pulp over the incomplete ransom paid by his family.
It is recalled that the chief, Peter David, was kidnapped along with his wife, his three children, as well as four other residents, while two people were killed.
Speaking to Daily Trust on Tuesday, December 5, the boss's wife, Aisha Peter, who was released two days later to collect a ransom of N100 million, said her husband was beaten into stupor by his kidnappers because she did not to have managed to raise the amount as she only recovered and raised N8m.
“I called them this morning to inform them that I was only able to raise N8m, and when I asked to speak to him, it was our 14-year-old daughter who was able to speak and she told me that my husband was unable to speak because of the beating,” she explained.
It was further learned that none of the other four kidnapped residents were released by the kidnappers, who demanded a ransom of N50 million for each.
