Abducted Kwara clergyman and two others regain freedom after N6.5m ransom payment

Reverend SB Oladunni, Chairman of ECWA Igbaja DCC, and two others who were abducted from Agbeku community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of ​​Kwara State, have regained their freedom.

According to Daily Trust, his freedom was secured following the payment of a ransom of N6.5 million raised by the families of the victims and the community.

The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N53m for the three victims, according to the traditional ruler of Agbekuland, Oba Abdulazeez Shola Agboola.

But a senior member of the community who was involved in the release process told the publication on Wednesday, November 22, that they paid less.

“The three victims were released after paying N6.5 million, drinks and recharge cards which they demanded, which we gave,” he said.
