Nasarawa Gubar: Police gives strict warning to residents

Kano: Police issue fresh warning to APC and NNPP

The Kano State Police Command has issued a fresh warning against a rally planned by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The state Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, said this in a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Friday.

Gumel said the command has already launched vigorous patrols in and around the city to maintain law and order.

He said armed security personnel were being deployed to sensitive areas in the state to deal with all kinds of security threats.

“As far as this command is concerned, we do not allow the two major political parties to carry out any form of protest within our supervision,” he said.

He called on the public to engage in lawful work without fear of sexual abuse.

He said the police and sister security agencies were working together to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state.

He also advised leaders of both parties to abide by the peace treaties they signed.

He called on parents to closely monitor their children’s movements as anyone found violating the peace will be detained and prosecuted.
