Kano: NNPP leader petitions NJC over appeal court ruling
The Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Comrade Olufemi Ajadi, has petitioned the National Judicial Council (NJC) over the Court of Appeal’s ruling on the Kano State governorship election.
In his petition to the NJC, Mr. Ajadi asked the council to investigate the controversy surrounding the ruling.
DAILY POST reported that the court has confirmed the removal of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
However, Mr. Ajadi, in his petition published by DAILY POST on Thursday, said that because some pages of the certified true copy (CTC) of the Court of Appeal’s judgment contained a passage indicating Mr. Yusuf’s victory. He pointed out that an investigation was needed. Nasir Gawna of the APC was endorsed on Friday.
The NNPP leader ordered the NJC to clarify the matter.
He pointed out that the investigation was necessary to ensure that the truth was not kept in the dark.
