Big Brother Naija reality TV star, Doyinsola Anuorwapo David popularly known as Doyin has revealed that he told his mother after “losing” his virginity.
She said she told her mother it was a bittersweet experience and gave her some advice on how to make sex pleasurable for herself.
In the latest episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel (also known as Nedu), Doyin pointed out that most parents don’t talk to their children about sex education, and that such children emphasized that sex education is often misunderstood by outsiders. Lack of communication between them and their parents.
She said: She said, “When I lost my virginity, I told her mom about it. I said, ‘Mom, this (intercourse) never felt like this.’ And we had a conversation. She was like, “Okay, this is what you need to do.” Do you use condoms?
“Parents need to create an environment where children can open up. There’s nothing you can’t say to your mom. I hadn’t enjoyed sex for a while, so I told my mom. asked, “Am I circumcised?” Because I read somewhere that if you are circumcised, you won’t be able to enjoy sex. And she said, “No.” She didn’t make me feel bad about it. She suggested what I should do.
“So[sex education]starts at home. Parents need to create an environment where their kids can talk about anything. At the end of the day, are they talking to you or are they talking to someone else?” Either.”
