Gunmen kidnap two after killing Immigration officer in Plateau

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted a lady and a man after killing an Immigration officer in Furaka community, Jos North local government area of ​​Plateau State.

Residents told Punhappy in Jos that the incident happened on the night of Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

“Some armed men came to our community on Tuesday. It was around 8pm. They invaded Furaka community near Tina Junction in the Jos Jarawa neighborhood of Jos North,” said a resident, Madaki Gottom,

“Unfortunately, Mr. Aaron Danji was shot and killed while Antipas Gabriel and a 20-year-old woman were taken to an unknown destination.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said it was a case of kidnapping and not a fresh attack by armed men in the community.

“We are aware of the incident. This is not another attack on the community. It is an incident of kidnapping and we are already investigating,” he said.

Furaka community in Jos North local government area of ​​Plateau State was thrown into confusion on Tuesday when kidnappers killed a man and took two people in the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, another community source who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune on condition of anonymity said the entire community was under siege by the kidnappers for over thirty minutes.

The source said the deceased, Aaron, was trying to climb a fence to possibly escape when he was shot dead by the assailants.

It was further gathered that the kidnappers left with their captors in a vehicle while other members of the kidnapping gang followed the car on motorcycles.
