Gunmen have abducted eight women from a farm in Gwombe village, Gwargwada Chiefdom, in Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The latest incident occurred just 48 hours after gunmen abducted the father of the vice-chairman of the FCT Kwali Area Council, along with six others, in Yewuti village.
A resident of Gwargwada, Usman Yakubu, said the incident happened at around 5pm on Monday, November 20, 2023.
He said the women, all housewives, were collecting benni seeds when the men armed with AK-47 rifles appeared and surrounded them.
A head of a village in the chiefdom, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the abduction to Daily Trust.
“In fact, four of the women are from one house,” he said.
“I suspect that these armed men who kidnapped our women are among those who escaped from the nearby village of Kabbi and were roaming the bush after Miyetti Allah’s vigilantes neutralized some of them over the weekend,” he added.
