Guber poll: Kogi government asks monarch about partisan politics allegations


The Kogi State Government has targeted Mr. Ohimege Igu Koton Karfi, who is also the Chairman of the Kogi Local Government Traditional Council, and Mr. Alhaji Abdulrasaku Gambo Isa Koto during the just-conducted gubernatorial election in the state. He was questioned on suspicion of involvement in partisan politics.

The letter says: “The state government has been informed that you have intentionally engaged in partisan politics.

“This blatant action of yours is a sad contradiction to your expected role as a respected royal father. I’m more worried about what he did.

“In view of the above, we hereby request you to explain in writing within 48 hours why disciplinary action should not be taken against you. The state government has set up a committee to investigate your case. In some cases, a verbal explanation may be required.

“Your Majesty, I ask that you please give top priority to the contents of this letter.”
